Hi, my name is Troy Battle. I live in Tampa, Florida with my wife, and two boys. I love my job and I'm honored that you are considering me to photograph your wedding. There are a few questions that are always asked when I'm meeting with new clients. So allow me to answer a few that may be on your mind.
- How long have I been doing this?
My dad bought me a point and shoot Kodak camera when I was 8 years old and I’ve been shooting ever since. I still have the camera. Don’t worry; I won’t use it at your wedding.
- What is my primary photographic style?
Photojournalistic. I want your photos to be able to tell the complete story of your day. Not just what you looked like, but the mood and feel of the day from the beginning to the very end. While I can definitely do all the formal shots you want, you won’t find me directing, posing, and creating any artificial moments. The best images of each wedding are the candid ones that show the truth and emotion caught at just the right moment. I believe if you let it happen, it will happen. If you force it, it will look forced.
- Do I shoot in color or in black and white?
I use professional digital equipment. One of the benefits of this is that any image can be produced quite easily in color or black and white.
- What kind of equipment do I use?
I use all Canon cameras and lenses. I realize how important your wedding day is, so I carry a complete set of backup equipment. I try to use as much natural light as possible so you won’t see me with a lot of intrusive lights and stands. I do have the lights I need, but the more natural the better.
- Where do I have my images printed?
I feel that printing consistent high-quality prints is a job best left to professionals. All of my photographs are printed by professional labs and printed on Kodak Endura archival paper.
